Before Kobe Bryant bows out, one of his most popular sneaker colorways is making an unexpected return.
In 2010, Nike served up a bright green version of the snake scaled Kobe 6 as part its three-shoe Christmas pack. It was originally given the nickname of "Green Means Go," playing on a traffic light theme alongside a yellow-based KD 3 and red LeBron 8 V/2. However, sneakerheads were quick to compare the bold style to the holiday's most famous animated villain-turned-softy, the Grinch.
What's now known as the "Grinch" Kobe 6 has become arguably the most beloved shoe in Kobe's line. For the colorway's 5th Anniversary, it's being reintroduced on NIKEiD just ahead of Christmas. Designers will be able to add all-green Flyknit to the upper of the Kobe 10 Elite, along with the black branding hits and red laces. Limited availability is set for Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 12:00 p.m. EST.
