The mighty combination of CNCPTS and New Balance will appear once more before the year's end via this, the New Balance 998 "Grand Tourer."
The carbon fiber-equipped sneaker, inspired by the culture of luxury racing cars, arrives in a checkered flag box and colors referencing European road maps. Driving home the theme here is the retail presentation: for the launch at CNCPTS NYC, the store has partnered with the Classic Cars Club for an experience featuring the sort of autos that inspired the shoe, and for the West Coast it's created a pop-up with Period Correct featuring vintage cars.
The Concepts x New Balance 998 "Grand Tourer" ($215) will release on Dec. 26 at noon via CNCPTS online. The sneakers will go on sale at CNCPTS in Boston and NYC at 10 a.m. EST and at 10 a.m. PST at the Period Correct pop-up (located at 2950 Randolph Avenue, Unit A, in Costa Mesa).
