OVO Air Jordan 8

by Brendan Dunne

It looks like Drake's next special Jordan Brand sneaker will be an "OVO" Air Jordan 8.

Information about the sneaker actually hit social media about a week back when DJ Folk mentioned that an unveil for the shoe will likely come during Drake's OVO Fest in Toronto, which is happening this weekend.

Keep in mind that no images of the sneaker have been released yet, and the above image is not meant to represent what the sneaker will actually look like.

There's also no information about a Drake x Air Jordan 8 "OVO" release date. DJ Folk calls it a friends and family release, but previous OVO Air Jordans have started out with the same status and eventually landed at retail, so maybe there is hope after all.

UPDATE 12/21: A first look at the white OVO x Air Jordan 8 from the back. This new angle shows off a gold pull tab.

UPDATE 8/20: Drake just showed the first close-up shots of the "OVO" Air Jordan 8s in white and black. Both shoes feature tumbled leather contruction, OVO gold accents, the owl logo on the pull-tab and custom details under the cross-strap. There's no release information for either colorway at the moment.

UPDATE 8/4: Drake surprised the world last night by bringing out two pairs of "OVO" Jordan 8s at his OVO Fest in Toronto. His on-stage appearance means that the world finally gets a clearer view of the black pair. Gathered below are some more shots of the shoes.

UPDATE 8/1: Another look, albeit a blurry one, at the "OVO" Air Jordan 8 on-foot. From what can be made out, it looks like the shoe is indeed all-black leather with gold branding hits. More to come.

UPDATE 7/31: Drake is wearing the "OVO" 8 at tonight's OVO Bounce basketball event. First spotted in this video by @atothebed, the kicks appear to feature a full black leather build with the OVO logo near the heel. The good news is that closer looks are surely on the way. Stand by.
