Like former teammate LeBron James, Dwyane Wade has never shied away from using his platform to speak up on the bigger issues.
For tonight's game against the New York Knicks, Wade paid his respects to Laquan McDonald, the 17-year old Chicagoan who was gunned down by a police officer last October. The latest development in the story went occurred Wednesday, when a video of the shooting was made public and police officer Jason Van Dyke was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.
A Chicago native himself, Wade wrote #LaquanMcdonald, #Chicago and #Justice on his Li-Ning Way of Wade 4 sneakers. He captioned the same hash tags in a photo of the shoes shared post-game.
