UFC's current middleweight champion, Chris Weidman, announced today that he's signed a deal with Reebok, a brand that's already heavily invested in the MMA scene as the official outfitter of the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Weidman showed off the first fruits of the partnership, shirts featuring his "Join the Team" phrase and Reebok Pumps with patriotic graphics made just for him, on today's episode of The MMA Hour, which appears above. MMAFighting.com caught wind of the partnership, which was also announced by Reebok's senior director of combat training, Michael Lunardelli, who appeared on the show today.

"I never even imagined having my own shoe," said Weidman, who apparently didn't know that Lunardelli would be showing up with sneakers for him.

While most may not pay much attention to footwear in the MMA world, the sport has definitely had its sneaker moments.
