The wait is over: Nike has officially unveiled the highly anticipated Nike MAG 2015 Back to the Future shoes.
These official images on the pair, which come complete with the power lacing promised by Back to the Future: Part II, arrive after a string of social media posts from the film's star Michael J. Fox, who gave the world its first look at the 2015 version of the shoe.
Nike calls the new self-lacing technology "an individually responsive system that senses the wearer’s motion to provide adaptive on-demand comfort and support." The brand says it's testing the power lacing technology across a variety of sports.
Nike CEO Mark Parker expressed his excitement for this development, saying "By imagining the future, we create it. Product that comes alive, with on-demand comfort and support when you need, product that senses you and adapts to you is right around the corner."
For now, Michael J. Fox is the only one with these sneakers. Watch for a limited edition auction-style charity release to come in Spring 2016, with proceeds benefiting Fox's foundation.
