Yesterday afternoon, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Miami Hurricanes renewed their storied rivalry at Sun Life Stadium. Adding to the historical context of the game, adidas laced both of its schools in custom cleats by Soles by Sir and Mache — an industry first.
Heading into the fourth quarter, the matchup was easily controlled by Miami, who wore vibrant cleats splashed in orange and green by Soles by Sir. The Hurricanes held a 23-point lead in the final frame, but then Tommy Armstrong Jr. led the Huskers to an improbable comeback. Scoring the last 23 points of regulation, Mache-cleated Nebraska managed to force overtime in a game that lived up to its billing. However, the Canes came up with a big interception in OT and Michael Badgley drilled a 28-yard field foal to seal the hard earned victory.
It was always going to be a special night for Soles by Sir and Mache, but the quality of the game made it epic. Check out both artists' cleats in the game shots below.
