Dwight Howard has left adidas, having signed a new endorsement deal with Chinese sportswear company Peak.
His departure puts the brand in a slightly awkward place, as there are still sneakers designed for Howard that have yet to be released. Take this pair of the adidas D Howard 6 for example, which is a Christmas release complete with Howard's likeness on its insole.
It remains to be seen whether the shoe will move forward as planned. Adidas would have a tough time rebranding the model given the extent to which it features Howard's likeness and logos, but it probably won't be happy to sell the shoes of an athlete connected to another company.
Sole Collector will provide updates on the future of Howard's adidas line.
