Hawaii-based sneaker boutique KICKS/HI, a past Vans collaborator, has reunited with the brand for a new collection of skate shoes.
Continuing to tell the story of the shop’s Mynah Bird mascot, the collaboration bridges the gap between old and new with fresh takes on the OG Sk8-Hi LX and tech-updated Authentic Lite LX. Both sneakers feature an embroidered Mynah Bird pattern, inspired by the concept introduced in the Stussy x KICKS/HI collab last summer.
Woven lauhala box imagery pays tribute to Hawaii’s history in handcrafted artistry, and still playing up the “old school to new school” concept, is displayed on a modern pull-out box. The canvas dust bag is a nod to the boutique’s previous “Mauka/Makai” project with Vans Vault and Sig Zane.
The "Mynah" Collection, including a matching New Era cap, is available now exclusively at KICKS/HI, KH/GU (Guam), Saint Alfred (Chicago) and United Arrows & Sons x KICKS/HI shop-in-shop (Japan).
