The first offering from Asics' "Varsity Pack" brings bold color to the Gel-Lyte III. Burgundy suede takes over the runner's upper, giving way to contrasting white leather tiger stripes and touches of grey along the inner lining and heel. The year "1990" is stamped on the heel, presumably as a nod to the year of the Gel-Lyte III's introduction.
