The Craziest Sneakers You Find In Facebook Groups

default-meta-description

1.

These days, there is a wide variety of places you can go to find sneakers. If you missed out on a release or simply want something new that isn't in the store, there's social media, forums, Craigslist and even Facebook Groups. The last of the bunch usually features people looking for quick sales, or to get rid of unwanted pairs. And while most pairs you come across are either common or worn, sometimes there is a surprise or two lurking. Below are some of the more unique pairs we found while browsing some East Coast Facebook Groups.

Air Jordan 6 Retro 'Boston Celtics'

2.

Jordan Brand never released a 'Celtics' edition of the AJ 6, but this person took their idea of what a pair might look like and created these customs.

Nike Air Foamposite One 'Comic'

4.

It seems that this artist was not a fan of their "Black Suede" Foams, because they replaced the material with comic book-style graphics instead.

Air Jordan 3 Retro 'Flower'

6.

If you're into floral prints and love the AJ 3, this might be the pair for you. While it began life as a pair of "Fire Reds," even the signature elephant print has been replaced on this custom piece.

Nike Air Foamposite One 'Splatter'

8.

Graphic prints have been hit of miss on Foams in the eyes of sneakerheads. This custom pair sports a paint splatter look, reminiscent of last year's Doernbecher Foams.

Air Jordan 11 Retro 'New York Jets'

10.

Being a hardcore Jets fan is probably the only acceptable reason to take a perfectly good pair of "Concord" AJ 11s and give them a makeover like this.

Nike KD 7 'Portrait'

12.

Sometimes customs are all about showing off the customizer's artistic ability. This KD portrait would have been at home on a canvas just as easily as these KD 7s.

Air Jordan 3 Retro 'Space Jam'

14.

Have you ever wondered what a non-patent "Space Jam" AJ 3 would look like? Now you know.

Nike Air Foamposite One 'Cloak'

16.

Black-based Foams are a popular base model for customizers, as evidenced by this "Cloak" like design.

Air Jordan 6 Retro 'Blackout'

18.

Blacked out AJ 6s would've been a clean drop, if Jordan Brand had decided to make it happen. Since they didn't, this person took their Black Friday pair and covered up the infrared.

Nike Zoom Rookie 'Alternate'

20.

No need to beat around the bush with this pair. These Zoom Rookie's are straight up fugazi.

Jordan AJF 9 'UNC'

22.

This is what happens when regret hits for buying those Air Jordan Fusions in the first place and you give it to a friend to turn into "something unique."

Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Custom'

24.

The owner of these "Green Glow" AJ 4s apparently was not a fan of their grey nubuck uppers, and took it upon themselves to paint them white — possibly with Whiteout.
