The two shoes find their inspiration in the brick red clay of the Roland Garros court that the French Open calls home. Many associate this sneaker with Bo Jackson, but remember that John McEnroe actually sported the shoe before that multi-sport athlete did (more on McEnroe's Trainer 1s here).
The fragment x NikeLab Air Trainer 1s will launch exclusively at NikeLab P75 in Paris on May 21. After that, the sneakers will release globally at other NikeLab locations in-store and online this summer.
