Tyshawn Boyd Arrested for Seventh Time After Stealing Air Jordans

Perhaps the seventh time is a charm.

This past Tuesday, a Charlotte teen was arrested for the seventh time in a little more than a year after stealing a man’s Air Jordan shoes in late May.

According to WBTV, 17-year old Tyshawn Boyd is being accused of walking up to a man who was in the process of trading the sneakers with another person and stealing them from his hands. Boyd then ran away with the shoes.

Investigators were able to determine Boyd’s involvement through the Electronic Monitoring System, meaning he stole the Jordans while wearing an ankle bracelet. He’s being held on $10,000 bond at Mecklenburg County Jail.

Court records say Boyd’s past arrests include larceny, robbery, resisting arrest, trespassing and conspiracy. Just weeks before the Air Jordan incident, he was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

While the culprit here is Boyd, remember to set sneaker meet-ups in crowded, public settings, where sneaker crime is less likely to occur.
