Jordan Brand Decided to Retro an Unexpected Team Shoe

But will it be a success this time around?

by Brandon Richard

Last year's Jordan Jumpman Team 1 retro wasn't completely unexpected. It's arguably the most popular of the usually unpopular team models. News of a Team 2 retro, however, is a bit surprising. It's always been a polarizing design and hasn't particularly aged well since its 1998 launch.

The Team 2 has always been described as somewhat of a "13.5" hybrid. With the Jordan Brand being independently established, they served up this mid-top featuring the Air Jordan 13's dimpled leather panels, the Air Jordan 14 'Ferrari' shield logo and large 'JORDAN' lettering along the midsole.

Not to say that the shoe didn't have its fans. There will be plenty of people excited to see it return, but is it anything more than a nostalgia play? We'll find out when it re-releases in the near future. Stand by for a release date.
