The Dirty Ghetto Kids skateboard company and Fila join forces to update a classic silhouette.

In the early '90s, it was commonplace to see kids all over the country skateboarding in Filas. Their connection to the hip hop culture as well made the brand a fan-favorite, as their sneakers were looked at as both fashionable and functional. So when DGK approached Fila about working together, they had one style on their mind, the Original Fitness. The focus was to pay homage to a model that best fit the era, as well as re-introduce it to the new generation.

But these aren't your daddy's Original Fitness. DGK has given them a skate-friendly update. In addition to the silhouette's already seamless, perfectly shaped toe cap and cushioning, a durable pigskin suede upper along with a tacky gum rubber outsole have been added to meet todays skateboarding standards. Two colorways are set to drop, one in the classic white, red and navy while the other comes in black, red and teal. Additional details include dual branding on the tongue and custom printed insoles. A wide variety of apparel and accessories will be released along with the footwear.

Both colorways of the Fila Original Fitness will be limited to 250 pairs each, available at select DGK retailers on Friday, May 1.
