After spending most of the season in the Nike Hyperfuse 2014, Sacramento Kings Derrick Williams has decided to open up his sneaker collection as the offseason nears. Last night, the former number 2 overall pick hit the court in one of the most unexpected pairs spotted in this season's #SoleWatch.
Williams wore the Air Jordan XIX SE in an unreleased Player Exclusive colorway. At first glance, it could be mistaken for Jalen Rose's personal make-up, but the purple toe overlay was used on a rarely seen pair made for Kings great Peja Stojakovic. Prior to signing with adidas, Stojakovic wore Jordans in 2004.
By game's end, Williams switched out the XIX SE, but the nod to Peja was a nice touch. He had 12 points and 4 rebounds in the Kings' 108-99 victory over the Phoenix Suns.
