Denim Returns to the Asics Gel Lyte III

Two new versions of the Gel Lyte III with an exciting material inclusion.

by Brendan Dunne

Denim has been missing from the Asics Gel Lyte III ever since Ronnie Fieg gave the shoe a selvedge spin back in 2012.

Involving the material to a much lesser extent is this new set that's being billed as the "Japanese Denim" pack. Asics hasn't usually used this level of premium materials on its inline releases, but the company is based in Japan so sourcing the material from there would make sense. The use of the denim strips the standard mesh and suede sections out, and has the shoe looking more weather resilient than most Gel Lyte III pairs. The Asics Gel Lyte III "Japanese Denim" pack isn't available in the U.S. yet.
