It's going to be hard for any pair of adidas Originals Supertsar 80s to live up the standard set by the Made in France pair.
With that being said, a $220 retro sneaker isn't for everybody. Making the shoe more pedestrian, while still maintaining a focus on quality, is the new adidas Originals Superstar 80s "Deluxe Pack" that's available now. The set features a slimmer tongue rather than the puffy one so often found on Superstars, and also weathers a tougher boot leather construction across the upper. For now, this build is sticking to the classic colorways, each of which have a white base with starkly color accents and the gold branding on the tongue.
