Nike Challenges Reebok with This Training Sneaker

Nike enters into the Crossfit arena with this shoe specifically designed for lifting, jumping, and running.

Nike is challenging Reebok in the training category with the upcoming Nike Metcon silhouette.

The model, which is set to release in Feb. 2015, doesn't make any direct callouts to CrossFit, which makes sense given how notoriously protective that fitness company is of their trademarked workout regimen. The trainer is described as appropriate for lifting, jumping, climbing, and running, and there's even a PE type pair for the Invictus CrossFit program. The Metcon model name is short for "metabolic conditioning", and seems to be Nike's way of referencing the CrossFit craze without directly referring to it. The Nike Metcon trainer is available for preorder now from Road Runner Sports.
