“Flight Club” may be the world’s best-known sneaker consignment shop, but it was also the name of a short-lived Jordan Brand website used to launch exclusive product. The most coveted release of its brief run was the Eminem 2, which were created to coincide with Em's "The Way I Am" book release.
The world’s first glimpse of the shoe came thanks to Paul Rosenberg (as seen in his tagged picture below), in October of ’08. Two months later, “The Way I Am” 2s were launched on December 18th, and were packaged with a matching t-shirt – all for the relatively affordable price of $110. The launch was limited to a mere 313 pairs, in honor of Detroit’s area code. Interestingly, as opposed to the majority of limited launches, they were released in large sizes, all the way up to 18.
Unsurprisingly, the shoe was an instant sell out, and continues to be highly sought after even today, where it resale value has reached sky-high levels. Check out this gallery of images below, including an alternate, sample variation.
