Being based in Portland, the sneaker capital of the United States, always has its perks. Some, like special gear made for University of Oregon athletics, are fairly obvious, while others, like these rare Air Jordan 4 cleats, fly under the radar.
In the past, this pair has been mistakenly identified as a Colorado Rockies PE. The real story is that this pair was made for the Sunset Apollos, a Nike-sponsored high school baseball team from Portland. School-inspired purple nubuck is featured on the upper, along with contrasting white hits on the pearlized tongue, plastic coated mesh, lace and heel tabs, inner lining and midsole. No school logos or markings are visible.
The cleats were made exclusively for the team, meaning most pairs were trashed on the diamond. You can secure this rare pair for $5,500 on eBay today.
