When the UNC Tarheels hit the court in Spring of 2005 in a new colorway of Air Jordan X, it wasn’t only the fans in Chapel Hill who took notice. The sneaker world immediately wondered if this was a player exclusive, or if they’d some day be able to get their hands on a pair.

It wouldn’t take long for that answer to come though, because only a few months later, the shoe hit retail in limited quantities, along with a matching line of apparel, similar to the LS releases of the period. And like any limited Air Jordan retro release, it was an immediate sell out. (The shoes anyway. The apparel still may be left on sale racks at the urban accounts where they originally released.)

When those lucky enough to actually snag a pair went to put them on, they found an interesting sticker on the insole, indicating the shoe’s upper was made of cow leather. This wasn’t typical of Jordans from this era, and the leather had a noticeable different feel from other retros. Check out the following gallery of shots from the Ice Blue 10s history, and let us know your thoughts on this Air Jordan.
