Allen Iverson Got this Nike Sneaker Cancelled

Allen Iverson gets Nike to cancel a sneaker release paying tribute to him.

The Nike Air Zoom Flight 96 "Allen Iverson" pair will not be coming to retail thanks to an objection from Iverson himself.

According to the AP, Iverson's lawyer Derek Challenger contacted Nike to raise issues with the Nike Zoom Flight 96 pictured that features an obvious 76ers colorway and Iverson's #3 on the back (remember that the shoe debuted the same year that Iverson did in the NBA). There are still some Nike Air Zoom Flight 96 retros in the future though, Nike spokesman KeJuan Wilkins said in an email that "Nike has made a business decision to not move forward with the shoe in the red/blue and white/purple colorways. However, two colorways inspired by the original 1996 colorways will still be available for purchase." The whole cancellation is a bit ironic considering Reebok's Question Pack clearly inspired by LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. Read more via the AP and best of luck in tracking down one of these Nike Air Zoom Flight 96 pairs before they disappear from stores.
