Around a decade ago, A Bathing Ape built out an entire footwear business for itself by taking some...inspiration...from Nike's iconic Air Force 1. We've seen it happen a couple times since, to varying success, from the likes of Yums and even the $1,000 Hender Scheme Highs.
Fashion house Celine is apparently the latest brand to jump on the Bruce Kilgore-designed silhouette, quite literally drafting off of the exact lines that made the Air Force 1 an icon since it's introduction in 1982. You'll notice the midsole and outsole are looking quite familiar, along with the hight top's collar strap.
Check out the calfskin-based model in the Celine Fall '14 Lookbook, and stay tuned for release and price details.
