The celebrated Japanese designer adds his touch to five silhouettes, each embracing classic Vans heritage while incorporating Taka's own unique aesthetic. Vans breaks down each model:
The tenth Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi collection kicks off with the TH Sk8-Mid LX. Taka's reinterpretation of the Classic Sk8-Mid form is influenced by the native patterns of New Mexico. Available in Formula One and Golden Brown, the Chimayo-inspired mid-tops feature premium detailing such as woven quarter panels, hairy suede overlays and leather Sidestripes.
The TH Court Hi LX in Pixel Camo is a style carried over from fall 2013 and takes its cues from athletic shoes of the '50s. Infusing military tones with the iconic Vans checkerboard print, it stands out as Taka's take on a camouflage pattern. The new TH Court Lo LX is a low version of the TH Court Hi LX and surfaces with a unique Tiger Batik motif.
Taka Hayashi's popular dress shoe marks its return to the Vault by Vans collection with an upgraded build. The TH Derby 2 LX revises the original Derby LX model with printed Palm Leaf printed on heavy canvas uppers and lightweight Vibram® outsoles. Sneaker style meets sophistication as Vans' vintage pattern covers the Natural and Peacoat renditions of this refined low-top.
Round 10 of Vault by Vans x Taka Hayashi concludes with the reissued Sk8 Monkey colorways of the OG Sk8-Hi LX. Utilizing the original mold of the Sk8-Hi, Taka's archived Vault print resurfaces on the quarter panels of each pair. Look out for the skateboarding primate later this spring with an additional OG Authentic LX pack releasing in May.
The Vans Vault x Taka Hayashi Spring 2014 Collection drops this March at select Vans Vault retailers.
