Adidas Originals recently surveyed NBA players like Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard and John Wall among others about what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar meant to them and the game of basketball. One player responded by saying Kareem represents 'The Blueprint,' respected for his greatness as a person, athlete and philanthropist.
Unlike any player that's ever stepped on the court, Kareem may have the greatest basketball resume of all-time. By the time he retired, Kareem amassed 3 NCAA championships, 6 NBA championships, 6 MVP awards, 19 All-Star appearances, the all-time record for blocked shots and remains the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
Paying homage to Kareem, adidas Originals is releasing 'The Blueprint' Jabbar Hi. The shoe is crafted out of actual Tyvek blueprint paper and also features contrast sitting, laces and printed graphics. Each player interviewed by adidas is printed on the right insole, while the responses are printed on the left.
'The Blueprint' Jabbar Hi hits adidas Originals retail locations and adidas.com on February 14 for $100.
