Classic Commercial: Larry Johnson and the Converse Aerojam

There was an old lady who lived in a shoe...

Larry Johnson's Converse Aerojam returns today, so in typical Classic Commercial fashion, we take it back to the original TV ad for LJ's best signature shoes.  Originally from 1993, the Aerojam was Larry's third shoe (after the Aeroglide and Aerojet) and at its time, was Converse's most teched-out basketball model ever, featuring REACT Juice in the heel and ankle along with a removable lace cover.  Pair it with Charlotte Hornets colorways, and you have one of the hottest sneakers of the early 90's.

With the help of LJ's alter-ego Grandmama, the high-flying, post-playing, slam-dunking granny, kids were craving for CONS as much as Air Jordans back in the day.  Times have obviously changed a bit for Converse since then, but many of us are definitely glad to see the return of the Aerojam, arriving exclusively at select Foot Locker, Foot Action and Champs stores today. (Hopefully the OG white/black/teal colorway seen here will be making a comeback, as well.)   Before you go pick up your pair, take 30 seconds to watch one of Grandmama's best commercials.
