Nike Basketball presents official images of the upcoming KD VI "Texas," a special colorway celebrating Kevin Durant's brief, though legendary, time with the University of Texas, where he became the first freshman to win the Naismith College Player of the Year award.
KD's stay in Austin, Texas made a lasting impact on the then 18-year-old. “Austin was like a home away from home from the second I arrived in 2006 – I loved it there,” said Durant.
Durant notes the the unique and diverse nature of Austin's "keep it weird" culture when describing the inspiration for the KD VI "Texas" colorway. Beyond the burnt orange used to represent the University of Texas, the shoe includes a speckled black upper representing the stars in the "big texas sky," along with contrasting green glow details.
The Nike KD VI "Texas," along with a matching KD backpack and KD Elite Crew socks, will launch on Thursday, October 10 at Nike.com and select Nike retail locations.
