Japanese street style heavyweight NEIGHBORHOOD and Converse First String have joined forces for the first time, unveiling a special two-shoe collaboration today online.
The collection begins with the classic Chuck Taylor silhouette, built out with premium materials and considered details informed by Neighborhood's motorcycle counter-culture style.
“The thing that is most attractive to me about Converse is their timeless simplicity,” said NEIGHBORHOOD founder Shinsuke Takizawa. “We really wanted to retain what is classic about their sneakers, making subtle but considered changes that reflect the way we approach design at NEIGHBORHOOD.”
The NBHD x Converse First String Chuck Taylor '70 Ox low-top features a royal blue suede upper, complimented by metal eyelets, white contrast stitching and a woven leather strip running down the heel. Neighborhood branding appears on the lacetips, insole and behind the tongue, while a stripeless white midsole sits below.
The NBHD x Converse First String Chuck Taylor '70 Ox will release on Friday, October 25 HOODS Hong Kong, Union Los Angeles and El Garito de Converse in Madrid. A limited global release will follow on Friday, November 1 at select First String retailers.
