With Nike showcasing their Fall 2013 trail running collection today, we thought we'd take a look back at one of the brand's best and coolest off-road models of all time, the Air Mowabb from Nike ACG.

Released in 1991, the Air Mowabb by Tinker Hatfield is one of the most celebrated ACG models of all time.  The Huarache-infused Mowabb was designed as an off-road cross-trainer, intended to be used for anything from running to mountain biking.  If it was an outdoor, off-road activity, the Mowabb could be worn for it.

Just like in 1991, Nike is still looking to provide versatile, innovative and stylish footwear for the outdoors in 2013, which they succeeded with on their current trail runner line-up with the Zoom Terra Wildhorse, Zoom Terra Kiger and Free Hyperfeel Trail.  Nike's innovative (and still underappreciated, in this writer's opinion) ACG line of the early 90's and models like the Air Mowabb certainly guided the way for the trail collection you see today.
