Reigning NBA champion and MVP LeBron James made his first trip to the Philippines this week, visiting Manila as part of the Nike-sponsored Witness History Tour.

Lebron kicked off his visit at Nike Park, Bonifacio Global City, where he participated in a Q&A session before hundreds of fans. James then joined in on a basetball showcase at the Mall of Asia Arena, where he worked with Nike athletes from high school, collegiate and Filipino professional teams. For the day's main event, LeBron coached and played in a 10-minute exhibition contest against players from the Filipino national team, Gilas Pilipinas.

“The passion for basketball in the Philippines is incredible,” said James. “To see the energy, the eagerness to learn and the joy for the game is truly special and something I will always remember. I look forward to returning to Manila again.”
