Jason Kidd's long and illustrious NBA career officially came to an end this week, with the announcement of his retirement after an impressive 19 years in the NBA.  Today in this Vintage Ad, we'll take a look back at his first signature shoe, the Nike Zoom Flight Five.

Though many consider the Zoom Flight '95 Jason's first shoe, his first official signature shoe was the Zoom Flight Five from 1996-97.  The Flight Five picked up where the Flight 95 left off, also utilizing the still-new Zoom Air cushioning and featuring a bold, futuristic design, going from the "bubbles" of the '95 to the iridescent "insect eye" of the Five.  All these years, assists, triple doubles and All-Star appearances later, the Zoom Flight Five is still revered as JKidd's greatest signature shoe.  Let's hope with his retirement, Nike Sportswear will bless us with this original black and purple colorway again soon!
