"White/New Emerald-Grape Ice-Black" is certainly the color combination on most sneakerheads' minds this week, as the highly anticipated "Grape" Air Jordan V will return to retail this Saturday for only its second time since the shoe's original release in 1990.
This teal and purple colorway of the Air Jordan V was never worn by Michael on the NBA court, making pictures of MJ wearing them hard to come by. Luckily, he did lace them up for at least one photo shoot (along with a matching warm-up suit!) that we see here on the front of a 1991 Wheaties box, which also came complete with a free Air Jordan Flight Club calendar.
So kids, remember to eat your Wheaties on Saturday morning, because you may need maximum energy and alertness to snatch a pair of the Grapes, certain to sell out almost instantly.
