Italy's Slam Jam and Converse First String unveiled a new Jack Purcell collaboration today, inspired by the coming summer months. The "Summer Journey" Jack Purcell features several notable details, including a snap-button medial closure, water-repellant waffle canvas upper and the expression "Summer Journey" printed vertically along the tongues, cleverly placed so that only the letters "S" and "J" appear when the shoe is fully laced.
“A nautical summer journey was the inspiration for these sneakers,” said Luca Benini, founder of Slam Jam. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Converse and be given the opportunity to rework the legendary Jack Purcell. We wanted to honor the original with unique details to give them a touch of the Slam Jam attitude.”
The Slam Jam x Converse First String Jack Purcell will release at select First String accounts on May 31.
