Anytime you shoot past Wilt Chamberlain on an all-time list, you're doing something special. When the feat involves scoring, you're doing something legendary. Today, Kobe Bryant stands alone in fourth place on the NBA's all-time scoring list after passing Wilt in last night's game against the Sacramento Kings.

Kobe hit a pull-up jumper from the free throw line with 7:54 remaining in the second quarter to eclipse Chamberlain's mark of 31,419 points. He finished with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 14 assists to help the Lakers earn an important road victory in their quest to make the playoffs.

Next on the all-time scoring list is Michael Jordan, who's ahead of Kobe by 858 points as of today. That mark would fall next season, which Kobe recently told reporters would be his last.

To pass Wilt, Kobe rocked the black, purple and gold colorway of the Nike Kobe 8 System. After the game, Kobe tweeted a photo of his kicks next to the game ball, both possibly heading to the Hall of Fame for display purposes.
