Since the FILA Grant Hill II, now known as the 96, made its official comeback today, we'll take a look at an original ad for the shoe featuring a young Grant Hill.

After leading the Duke Bluedevils to two NCAA basketball championships, Hill continued his success on the NBA court with the Detroit Pistons as one of the most dominant players in the league.  The 1990's were a different time than now, when not every one of the top players in the league was wearing adidas or Nike.  Some of the little guys actually had a chance to sponsor the NBA's best.  Enter FILA, who had Grant Hill and one of the most successful signature basketball shoe lines of the mid-to-late 90's. Grant Hill, who was known as one of the "good guys" in the league, is seen here decked out in a tuxedo in ad for the GH2, his second signature shoe with FILA.

The GH2 and its triangular design would become one of FILA's most memorable and recognizable basketball shoes off all time.  It returned today in the original White/Navy colorway, with many of us hoping the reversed Navy/White colorway seen in this ad will also make a comeback.  Who picked up a pair today?
