March Madness is officially in action, with the beginning of the NCAA men's basketball tournament.  What better way to celebrate than with a look back at perhaps the most iconic March Madness shoe?

In 1997 Mike Bibby lead the Arizona Wildcats through the tournament and past three #1 seeds to a national championship.  Anybody who knows anything about sneakers should know what he had on his feet for that title run: the never before seen Nike Air Foamposite One.  What makes the shoe so special in relation to March Madness and Mike Bibby is the fact that he nationally debuted them before anybody else, even the shoe's signature athlete Penny Hardaway.  When Bibby hit the court in that funky blue shoe, it left everyone who payed attention to sneakers wondering 1. What the hell is that? and 2. When and where can I get a pair??

Obviously the Royal Blue Foamposite has stood the test of time, still one of the most sought after shoes out there.  Let's go back to where it all began with Mike Bibby wearing them in March of 1997 on the way to an NCAA championship.
