Today, adidas unveils a new, cutting edge Facebook experience, designed to bring Leo Messi's biggest fans closer to their hero.
By joining 'Team Messi' on Facebook, fans will be able to star alongside the soccer icon in interactive films personalized to the user through Facebook Connect. The innovative application represents a first for a soccer player and makes use of pioneering 3D flash technology and filming techniques.
Films are personalized to the user from the opening scene, with fans able to enjoy a custom experience determined by their entry to 'Team Messi.' Three interactive moments allow users to dictate which journey he or she would like to take with Messi.
Once fans have taken in the 'Team Messi' experience, they can share a short trailer of their film, containing a piece of the personalized content, with their Facebook friends.
Also featured in the film is a previously unreleased track from Hudson Mohawke.
The Facebook Connect experience is part of a wider campaign to mark the launch of the adidas Messi Collection of cleats and apparel, including the adizero F50 Messi.
