The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to fight their way back into the playoff mix, and Kobe Bryant is predictably at the forefront of that effort. Yesterday, the Lakers attempted to close the gap between themselves and the Western Conference 8-Seed in an afternoon road game against the Dallas Mavericks.
The veteran Mavs proved to be a tough opponent, but Kobe put forth another masterful performance to help his team pick up a critical win. Mamba scored 38 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 7 assists, as the Lakers edged by Dallas 103-99.
For the game, Bryant debuted a new "Lakers Away" colorway of the Nike Kobe 8 System. As seen in today's Nike Basketball Sneaker Watch, the kicks sport a black synthetic upper, complemented by Laker-inspired hits of purple and gold.
