After a brief hiatus from the line, Tinker Hatfield returns to design the 20th Anniversary Air Jordan XX. The Mark Smith designed laser-etched upper celebrated various elements of his life and Independent Podular Suspension honored his game. Additional features included a breathable Sphere lining, midfoot support strap, multi-position ankle leash and an impact distribution plate. On the back of the XX's heel were the number '85' and '05,' signifying the year the Air Jordan line was born and the year of the current release.
Not only did Tinker return — Spike Lee was back in the fold for some promotion work. The iconic director and former "Mars Blackmon" starred in the memorable "Will You Be The One?" commercial, which left us with the unanswered question of who would be the "next Michael Jordan."
Initially released in three Bulls-themed colorways, the XX dropped in East, West and Midwest regional styles. In 2005, the Air Jordan XX Low and Air Jordan XX 3/4 were launched.
Jordan Brand athletes who wore the XX on the court included Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Mike Bibby and Derek Anderson.
For the twentieth day of the XX8 Days of Flight, a look at the Air Jordan XX in the celebratory black and neon green colorway.
