Jordan Brand XX8 Days Of Flight - Air Jordan XIX

The Air Jordan XIX introduces a Tech Flex upper made to the specifications of MJ himself.

With Michael Jordan's playing career now officially over, then Jordan Brand Senior Footwear Designer Tate Kuebris led a group consisting of Jason Mayden, Wilson Smith, Josh Heard and Suzette Henri in creating the Air Jordan XIX.

Inspired by the black mamba snake, the XIX featured a Tech Flex upper, intended to reduce weight while adding support and flexibility. The performance picture was completed with a Phylon midsole, full-length Zoom Air and a carbon fiber shank plate.

With the XIX, we saw the reintroduction of the regional release concept. Three different colorways were designated for the East Coast, West Coast and Mid West, though it was still relatively simple to get your hands on all three.

On the court, players like Ray Allen, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton, Michael Finley, Derek Anderson and Mike Bibby wore the XIX, which was released in standard, SE and low-cut versions.

For Day 19 of the XX8 Days of Flight, a look at the Air Jordan XIX in black and neon green.
