With a championship under his belt, Michael Jordan's eight-year span of dominance was officially underway.

He'd go on to lead the Chicago Bulls to a repeat, shrugging off Clyde Drexler and the Portland Trail Blazers in six  games. Along the way, a sixth scoring title, third league MVP and second finals MVP.

As sweet as victory was for MJ and the Bulls, '92 will best be remembered as the year His Airness teamed up with the game's best and embarked on history in Barcelona. The "Dream Team" ran through international competition at the 92 Olympic Games, setting the tone for international expansion for the next two decades. Michael truly became a global icon as the US claimed gold by an average of 44 points per game.

MJ's shoe of '92? The Air Jordan VII, inspired by Nike's Huarache running shoe technology. The VII set a new standard in comfort and weight with its neoprene sockliner. An unexpected twist came in the form of vibrant West African tribal art design cues.

Wrapping up the first week of the XX8 Days of Flight, the Jordan Brand shows us the VII in the celebratory black and green colorway.
