Jordan Brand XX8 Days Of Flight - Air Jordan IV

Flight, global retail, reinforced mesh, stabilization straps, Do the Right Thing and Craig Ehlo make up the history of the Air Jordan IV.

At the forefront of the Air Jordan IV campaign was Flight, displayed front and center on the shoe's famous tongue patch. Weight reduction and breathability were enhanced through the use of reinforced mesh. Stabilization "wing" straps boosted support. Famously appeared in Spike Lee's film Do the Right Thing. The IV also took business to an all-new level for Nike when it became the first Air Jordan released on the global market.

On foot, the IV was responsible for one of MJ's best all-around seasons, 32, 8 and 8 en route to another All-Star selection, scoring title and First Team All-NBA nod. Perhaps the most vivid memory we all have of the IV was when MJ hit "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo in Game 5 of the Chicago Bulls' first round playoff matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1989. That bucket not only gave Chicago an upset series win, but was a sign of things to come from Michael's dynasty era teams.

Today, the Jordan Brand continues their countdown to the Air Jordan XX8 launch with a look back at the IV in this new Black/Neon colorway. Premium leather and textiles highlight this all-time great silhouette.
