Classic Commercial: Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4

Today's Classic Commercial feature takes a look at one of Nike Basketball's most memorable commercials of all time.

It's hard to believe this one hasn't already been featured in Classic Commercials.  It's also hard to believe that it has been almost nine years since the original release of this shoe.  Either way, the Zoom Huarache 2K4 from Nike Basketball and this commercial are both certified classics.

The Huarache 2K4, which is still seeing time on the court from the gym to the NBA floor, is ranked as a unanimous all-time great among basketball shoes.  Right from its debut in 2004, the Huarache 2K4 became an instant classic with its perfect blend of aesthetics and high performance.  It didn't hurt that Kobe Bryant, fresh with his new Nike deal, was the shoe's lead endorser (not to mention any number of other pros wearing them).

In this awesome commercial, we see the evolution of Nike Basketball, from the Blazer to the 2K4.  Included in the morphing shoe evolution are some of the inspirations for the 2K4 like the Air Force 1 (use of the old-school large, quarter panel Swoosh) and, of course, the original Air Flight Huarache from 1992.

Do you remember this commercial like it was just on TV yesterday?  Where do you rank the Huarache 2K4 among your favorite basketball shoes?
