With Ray Allen set to debut a new PE of the Air Jordan XVI for the NBA's opening night this evening, we figured there was no better time to take a look back at a commercial for the original XVI from 2001.  This commercial features then-Jordan Brand athletes Eddie Jones and Michael Finley in a game of pick-up ball wearing the XVI, with Eddie demonstrating the shoe's signature feature: the removable shroud, which allowed the shoe to have two different looks.

The first Air Jordan since the II to not be designed by Tinker Hatfield, the XVI's shroud made it one of the most unique models in the entire line, even if it did recall elements from previous models like the patent leather and clear outsole.  Only receiving one retro (Countdown Pack) since its original run in 2001, the XVI is one of the most underrated Air Jordans.  Surely many Air Jordan fans would like to see it return again.  Perhaps Ray Allen's new PE pair is a sign of things to come?
