With shiny suits and flossy beats dominating the airwaves in '98, DMX, Dame Grease and Swizz Beatz stepped on the scene. The trio brought a gritty sound back to mainstream hip hop and established Ruff Ryders entertainment, a record label founded by Swizz's uncles "Dee" and "Waah." After adding acts like Drag-On, Eve and the LOX to the roster, "Double-R" dropped twelve platinum and gold albums through 2002, each lifted by Swizz-produced hit records.
The Ruff Ryders label was officially disbanded in 2010, but Swizz still takes just about any opportunity he can to shout out his old crew, evident in this tribute colorway of the Reebok Twilight Zone Pump.
Previewed by Classics' Creative Director on Instagram, the Ruff Ryders Pump is decked out in silver in black. A Ruff Ryders-style "R" leads Reebok branding along the lateral side.
No word on a release at the moment, but we'll keep you updated here at Sole Collector.
