After a highly successful run with the low-cut Zoom KD IV, Nike Basketball and Kevin Durant scale it up a bit for the upcoming KD V. Previewed here in a few unflattering photos, the KD V is built to Durant's specifications and highlight his request for a clean, high performance sneaker.
The new model features seamless construction, a new stretch lacing system, flexible forefoot an injected Phylon midsole and integrated heel counter for lockdown and stability. Cushioning elements include Max Air in the heel and forefoot Zoom. Below sits a lightweight, multi-directional rubber outsole.
There will obviously be a lot of symbolism and personalized cues worked into the shoe that aren't visible in these early photos. Here, we do see the KD logo positioned on the center of the tongue and star-patterned number "35" on the heel.
Much more to come on KD's latest in the months ahead. From what you've seen here and the catalog photos that leaked a while back, are you a fan of the direction?
