While there're rumors circulating non-stop this week about player signings in the footwear industry as guys begin to ink their deals, when the source happens to the player himself, we're comfortable posting about it.

After originally said to be the first player of the 2012 rookie class off the board and joining the Nike Inc. family, it turns out that Kidd-Gilchrist will more specifically be joining the Jordan Brand's roster of NBA athletes.

"Glad to be apart of The Brand Jordan Family!" Kidd-Gilchrist recently posted on Instagram, along with the photo below and the incorrectly phrased slogan "Dear To Be Great." It's a process.

The one-and-done versatile standout from the University of Kentucky was of course selected #2 overall in this summer's NBA Draft, by none other than the Michael Jordan-owned Charlotte Bobcats.
