When it comes to storytelling in footwear, few have done a better job than the Jordan Brand. In the months ahead, we'll learn about Fontay Montana, Bentley Ellis and Calvin Bailey, the latter depicted in this upcoming new colorway of the Air Jordan Retro 9.
Originally, we believed the "Calvin Bailey" 9 featured a Laney-like blue and gold scheme, but these detailed photos and video from Joe Venuto actually reveal a deep purple nubuck upper. Contrasting gold hits appear on the eyelets, inner lining, pull-tab, heel and outsole. "CALVIN BAILEY" appears in place of the usual "AIR JORDAN" branding on the tongue.
