Nike Zoom Revis 1 - Darrelle Revis Signature Shoe

The Jets' shutdown cornerback previews upcoming Nike signature shoe.

Flash back to the 90s, when signature sneaker models for NFL players were commonplace. Pro Bowlers like Bo Jackson, Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, Dan Marino, Brett Favre and Jerome Bettis each had signature (or affiliated) models that weren't only suitable turf performers, but also appealed to those with intentions of wearing the shoes casually. Thus, Nike's Sportswear and Training ranges have had a great amount of success bringing back iconic turf trainers in retro form, despite the fact that the pro football signature model market has dried up in recent years. Since the rise of Michael Vick, we've seen very little in the way of NFL sigs, but it appears that Nike and New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis are about to embark on a revival of sorts.

Today, the Ruler of Revis Island previewed his upcoming Nike Zoom Revis 1 signature shoe in two colorways. The low-top features Flywire paneling for extra stability, a midfoot cross-strap for a lockdown fit, large Swoosh branding at the heel and Zoom Air cushioning. Jets fans will obviously be drawn to the Green/White colorway, which is no doubt a salute to his current team.

We're still waiting on a confirmed release date for the Revis 1, but Darrelle added a "coming soon" caption on his Twitter/Instagram account. Will you be looking to pick up a pair?
